  • On The Road: Jack Mclaughlan

After two and a half years of hands-on learning up and down the country, Livestock Rep Jack Mclaughlan has finally settled down in Winton. Jack’s taking over the Central Southland region from experienced rep, Barry Brown, who spent 40 years in the saddle. Being involved in farming was likely always on the cards. Jack spent his early years working on the family farm in Waikouaiti, just north of Dunedin.

  • On The Road: George Shannon

George Shannon’s passion for livestock started when he tagged along on the road with his grandfather, who was also a Livestock Buyer. George is continuing that passion now covering the Western North Island region as a Livestock Representative for Silver Fern Farms.

  • A Global Perspective Through the Plate to Pasture Award

As winners of Silver Fern Farms Plate To Pasture Award 2025, Sarah and Jarred Coogan from MataRata Downs in Taranaki were given the opportunity to explore the USA and Canada on the Silver Fern Farms International Market Tour 2026.

  • On The Road: Ryan MacArthur

As Agribusiness and Programmes Manager at Silver Fern Farms, Ryan MacArthur works across five livestock regions, leading and supporting the livestock programmes that connect our farmers with our customers and ever-evolving market opportunities.

  • Shaping the Next Generation on the High-Country Front Line

Nestled in the rugged beauty of the Awatere Valley, Muller Station spans a vast and challenging high-country landscape. For owners Mary and Steve Satterthwaite, running a premier pastoral lease operation is only part of their daily commitment to New Zealand agriculture. For the past five years, they have also dedicated their time to cultivating the industry's most valuable asset: its young people.
